Case management questions
What is recovery case management?
A case manager is the person who keeps the whole recovery plan connected: clinicians, appointments, resources, family communication and next steps. Instead of a family juggling five providers, one person coordinates them and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
How is case management different from therapy or coaching?
Therapy treats the underlying issues. Coaching builds daily structure and accountability. Case management coordinates everything around the person so the plan actually happens. Many people at Grassroot have all three, working together.
Who leads case management at Grassroot?
Mackenzie Fauser, MSW, our Director of Case Management. She earned her Master of Social Work at Columbia, works as a therapist specializing in substance use disorders, and has been in recovery since 2014.
Is case management only for sober living residents?
No. Every resident has a case manager, and families can also get case management and coaching without a move through our care management service.
Is Grassroot a treatment provider?
No. Grassroot is non-clinical and peer to peer. Our case managers coordinate with licensed clinicians and treatment programs rather than replacing them.
